Glue-Applied 2-piece Foil Sealing Liners
Some fillers prefer glue-applied liners because it eliminates the use of wax ensuring that the liner is more stable over a far wider temperature range.
Usually this type of liners are 2-piece products with the pulp board backing.
The foil in the liner is temporarily polymer laminated to a board backing material. Separation of the foil and the backing does not involve heating.
Instead of wax sealing layer used in heat-induction sealing liners, glue-applied liners may have a layer made of parchment paper or a polymer lamination.
Glue-applied liners have to be attached to an adhesive-coated glass or plastic container rim for sealing. Food-approved glue is applied to the container rim before the liner is pressed against it. Obviously, there should be a gluing unit incorporated in the filling line.
Use of this type of liners may be essential for odor-sensitive substances like instant coffee, dry drink mixes, powdered soups etc.
